Katimo x Kira Vintage
The new summer line is created from Katimo’s archive textiles, which we have kept since the previous collections. The decision to revisit the leftovers turned out as a creative challenge. We have taken up this challenge, featuring the experimental yet classic design vector influenced by the materials themselves: silk, viscose, wool, cotton, and velvet. Availability and compatibility were the primary factors to consider while giving a second life to the fabrics.
The collection includes ten styles: waist tie-up tops, lace-embellished pants, mini and full-length skirts, maxi dresses, a coat, and a jacket. The silhouettes read as the equilibrium of geometry and fluidity; the laconism is elevated with the variability of lines and textures. The garments are constructed from elements resembling the shapes of stones, gently formed by seawater. Similarly, our craftsmen shape the patches, hand-finishing them one by one, and assembling them into delicate, sartorial styles. A single dress requires as many as 20 elements to be crafted.
Respect for personal and natural resources is a tenet of our philosophy and lifestyle, which also unfolds in the Katimo Special campaign. The outfits are styled with rare jewelry and accessories, collected and presented by our friend Kira Vintage. The culture of consuming vintage puts emphasis on thought-out shopping and delving into the very characters of the objects. Stories enrich each separate item with meanings. We strongly believe that collecting significant items is far more interesting than fleeting trends. By doing so, each choice becomes a manifestation of inherent authenticity.
