Fall-Winter 23/24 Main edition
When the form and unity become one, the essence of things shows through. A path to this essence is a path to clarity, as stated by the Romanian-French sculptor Constantin Brâncuși. His artistic legacy is the inspiration behind the vision of the new Katimo collection.
The FW’23/24 palette has absorbed the colors of the artist’s atelier in Paris: mahogany, gray, red, brown, and golden. The natural shades are re-explored in the realm of handpicked textiles. Premium cashmere, wool, and viscose are shaped into geometrical, timeless designs. Jewelry styles with high-quality gilding embody the forms of the renowned objects by Brâncuși.
Structured, clean-cut silhouettes are the basis of the collection, as the pedestal is a fundament of a sculpture and a sure part of the artwork. Sharp cut-outs and bold lines showcase the new facets of versatility. Minimalist dresses, double-breasted coats, footwear, and accessories create a cohesive interconnection.
Unlike his predecessors, Brâncuși employed carving as his method. The ability to extract the essence by cutting off what’s unnecessary is a practice for the inner creative work, as well. The truths remain unwavering, beauty remains immutable. Authenticity can be recognized by the sense of lightness inherent in the art of simplicity.
